This is a set from Kindred Stamps called Bears With Feelings. I don’t have a tutorial cause all I’ve done is color so far. But let me tell you…it took 41 Copic colors and 4 episodes of Stranger Things playing in the background to cut and color all of these adorable bears. I am going to do something fun with them but I’m not quite there yet. To be continued…
Happy Haunting!

I was organizing and labeling in my craft room today when I came across this stamp set that I forgot I had. I don’t know where I got it, who makes it or how long ago I got it but I’m glad I found it.
When I saw the top house on the right it reminded me of another stamp set I have from Kindred Stamps called Happy Haunting.
But the stamp next to it also reminded me of this set and I thought maybe it would be cool if I could put them together and make one big house. So that is exactly what I did! I’ll show you how I did it in the next few pictures. The bottom one was my tester.

First I stamped the image with the MISTI since this set is a little finicky and hard to get a clean image on the first try.
I moved the paper over and stamped again, overlapping. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a little messy since I was going to cover it up.
Next I stamped the smaller house.
I stamped the second house on a smaller piece of Neenah Solar Crest since I was cutting that out. I colored both images and the larger house was the base so I colored a background on it too. I fussy cut the smaller house (I NEVER fussy cut!! I usually use the Brother Scan n Cut and I don’t know what I was thinking today cause I’m a terrible fussy cutter. But it came out good so I’m happy!) and used foam squares to make it pop up from the base house.

Next I colored the images from Kindred Stamps. I used Copics on Neenah Solar Crest. A LOT of Copics. Then again, like a crazy woman, I fussy cut.

I cleaned up the edges with a Memento marker (since I’m a terrible fussy cutter) and added Wink of Stella to her cape and hair band. I dotted her eyes with a white gel pen and then over that I drew pupils with a Copic liner. His teeth glisten green if you look close!
Then I die cut some grass from lawn Fawn for the front. I adhered the little figures using acetate that I formed into a U shape and I just glued it behind the figures and behind the backdrop scene. This makes them stick forward about half an inch.
That’s it!! Oh! And the frame is from Ikea. Super deep and super cheap!

Copic Markers
Ok let’s talk about Copics. I am in no way an expert on Copic markers and I still don’t fully understand the number system. But, in the last few years I’ve learned what colors I like to use and what blends well. Four years ago I didn’t even know what alcohol markers were. I went to the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Schaumburg, IL just to check out some crafty projects and techniques. I wasn’t even a stamper (or a scrapper…and I’m still not!) but it sounded like a fun way to find out about different companies. Plus Cricut was there and I love my Cricut. While I was at the Expo I discovered Lawn Fawn stamps. Omg was that booth adorable and I had never seen cards that were stamped that were just so darn cute. I ended up grabbing a couple sets and a couple packs of Tombow markers.
I ended up really not caring for Tombows. I sold the set I had after discovering Copics. I had trouble coloring with watercolor markers cause I felt like I kept over saturating the paper and it would start to pill. I kept watching videos on the Lawn Fawn site which are SUPER helpful if you want to learn coloring. I watched the video for the set I had and ended up ordering the same colors Kelly Marie (the owner of Lawn Fawn) was using. After that I was in love with Copics and was determined to get them all.
Yeah…you don’t need a full set. I have one and trust me I don’t use half the colors. I have my go to colors and I swear most of the blues I have never touched. There are colors that are very similar. This is where Sandy Allnocks chart comes in handy. It’s available on her site for $5.99 and it’s well worth it. You can see what colors go well together way better than the Copic chart. Here are the two charts-

The colors in the Hex chart are better grouped for blending colors. As long as you choose colors close to each other you will get a good blend. Like here…I use R39, R29, R35 all the time for reds. That way you get a light to dark shadow.
There are so many blues and greens that are very similar and you really don’t need all of them. I put together some of my favorite blending colors. Sometimes I use 3 colors, sometimes just 2.

These are my favorites and my suggestions for good blending. Every once in awhile I find some more colors that I love but I tend to stick to these.
When it comes to the grays I do suggest getting some from every category. They are all so different and have a certain feel to them. If you don’t want to get all of them just get odds or evens in each tone. So get 1,3,5 etc or 2,4,6. If you need an in between color you can always touch the lighter color to the darker one and not worry about ruining your marker.
You can pretty much skip 100 and 110. The number 10s are dark enough. I also never use the colorless blender though some people swear by it. It does make a good mistake eraser.
This is how I store my Copics. I have a rolling Raskog cart from Ikea and I use the plastic storage containers that Copic sells. Copics can be stored sideways or upright. They are pressurized so the ink won’t pool on one end. There are lids for the containers but I never use them.

Thanks for reading my blog today! If you have questions drop me a comment. Have a great day!!

Treasure Hunter stamp set from Kindred Stamps
A pop up box card I made using the Treasure Hunteu set from Kindred Stamps. Stamped on Neenah Solar Crest white and colored with Copics. The card base is made from 100lb Neenah Desert Storm and distressed with Lawn Fawn Pizza Crust and Doe ink. The brick stencil is made by Tim Holtz. The die cut window is made by Hero Arts for their monthly set (what month? I have no clue!!). Jagged edge die is from Kat Scrapiness.
Mama Elephant-Me and My Dragon Stamp set
I colored this set probably a year ago (and forgot to take a pic of it colored!) and I finally figured out what to do with it. I love these little dragons and kids and wanted a magical looking card.
I started by die cutting some Lawn Fawn stitched cloud border so I could use them as a stencil. Then I taped it down to Neenah Solar Crest white and used Distressed Oxide colors Broken China and Tumbled Glass. I started at the top and worked my way down.

Next I wanted a starry look so I used Gansai Tambi watercolors. Just add water to the pallet and use a small brush to flick the paint on. The closer you tap it the bigger flecks you will get.

Then I die cut another cloud border and added a little glitter to the edges (which is hard to see). I used a sentiment from another Mama Elephant set and used Lawn Fawn Gold embossing powder to make it shine.
Then comes the assembly. I wanted the dragons to pop a little so I used foam tape on the back of the clouds and the flying dragon. I added Wink of Stella to their wings and bellies (for more magic!). I then cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Sage Leaf cardstock for a border and added it to a 5×6 top folded card base. This is an odd size so I needed to make my own envelope and I will probably give this to someone in person since it will be tough to mail.
I love this card so much and as simple as it is I really think it has a very magical look!!

Tale As Old As Time
I’ve been in a card making slump so my friend Kate and I decided to do a “challenge”. We picked a stamp set we both own and had to make a card with it. (She lives in Ohio and that’s a far way from Indiana so we can’t craft together😬) We chose the Little Town set from Kindred Stamps. I absolutely love how this card turned out. Took forever but it was worth it. Now I will never mail it of course so it’s sitting in my craft room.
I love that it can move!!

I started by stamping out all the images and coloring with TONS of Copic colors. I ended up not using the castle on this card (which is a Kindred Stamps digital stamp) but I will save it for another project.

I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out all the images. Then I used the box card technique by Jennifer McGuire to make my card base. I wanted it to look like you are looking into the castle so I did a brick technique with a stencil by Tim Holtz and I used Stormy Cloud Lawn Fawn ink.
Then I wanted a stained glass window. I just drew one by hand and colored in it with, again, many Copics!!

I then added the gold flecks simply by using Starry Colors by Gandhi Tambi. You just wet the pallet with a small paintbrush and flick it. Turns out so pretty!!
Then you just assemble. I added some branches up the side to look like vines with a die from Lawn Fawn. Stamped the sentiment from Sweet Stamp Shop and die cut it with another Lawn Fawn die. This card is so cool cause it stands on its own and it will move if you pull on the sides. But like I said…I can’t let this one go. So it will forever stay in my craft room making me happy!❤️❤️❤️

Finally I have a craft room!
I waited 39 years and now I finally have the perfect room to create! The last 10 years I lived in a two bedroom townhouse which eventually ended up being shared with my husband and my dog and the only craft space I had was my living room closet. I couldn’t complain cause it was a decent sized space. But getting to all my supplies, especially my sewing machines was such a pain. We started looking for a new house last year and when I walked into my current home and saw the cutest room with French doors I knew that was my future craft space. Some paint and a trip to Ikea and my room was in progress!!
